The first step of UAE residency is choosing the right visa and obtaining an Emirates ID. The dashboard above is the 5-second read; the section below gives structural context and pointers to detailed guides.
Visa types in one line each
- Tourist (90 days) — auto-issued on arrival for ROK passport holders. No employment, no residency.
- Employment (2–3 years) + EID — the standard resident path. Your employer sponsors; family can follow.
- Family / Dependent (2 years) — sponsored by a working spouse. Sponsor salary 4,000+ AED/month.
Medical screening (required for employment visa)
- Conducted at designated Dubai Health Authority or Abu Dhabi Department of Health centres
- Blood tests (HIV, hepatitis, etc.) + chest X-ray
- Positive results for certain diseases can lead to visa refusal or deportation — consider pre-screening at home
- Results usually same-day or next business day
